Roots and Beginnings

Let’s start from the beginning. While I’m currently nestled in the northeastern United States, my roots extend all the way back to Japan. It’s an interesting journey that has given me a unique perspective on both life and art. I’m happily married to my wonderful husband, and together, we have two beautiful daughters and two beloved cats who have been by our side through it all. Reflecting on my life over the past two decades, from setting foot on American soil to building a family and career, I feel incredibly grateful for each chapter.

A Journey of Creativity

My artistic journey took root back in Japan, where I spent two formative years studying at a local college that specialized in the arts. This time gave me a solid foundation, inspiring me to dive deep into the world of visual expression. Moving to the United States opened up even more possibilities. I continued my studies in visual arts at a community college here, and the experience was invaluable. After graduation, I was fortunate to land a position as an artist at a T-shirt design company, where I explored new mediums and gained hands-on experience working with graphic design and wearable art.

However, life is full of twists and turns. Marriage and the arrival of my two daughters brought me new joys and challenges. Though I paused my professional work for a while to focus on my family, my passion for art never faded. I continued to sketch, doodle, and experiment, especially as my daughters started to show an interest in creativity themselves.

Fusion of Passions

Around 15 years ago, I took a new step: web design. Working alongside my husband’s business from home, I dove into the world of coding, web design, and all things digital. It was a whole new language of creativity that complemented my love for drawing and visual art. Mastering WordPress, exploring SEO, and honing my coding skills opened up doors to new opportunities, and eventually, I started to think about creating something of my own.

After years of balancing web design with raising a family, my artistic roots tugged at me more and more. I wanted a space where I could share my work with the world—a place that blended my love for art with my web design skills. And with that vision in mind, Pearly Arts was born.

In August 2021, Pearly Arts officially came to life. From the beginning, my vision for Pearly Arts has been simple but powerful: to create a vibrant hub where creativity thrives and anyone can find inspiration.
